Just to be clear, despite recent comments on South Northants Website, re 'harassment in the air', I think the photographic evidence on the website speaks for itself. How anyone else in the village can comment about the present situation is beyond belief, YOU ARE NOT AFFECTED, YOU DONT LIVE ANYWHERE NEAR US.

Would the person/persons who take their dogs up to the churchyard and let them loose to do their business please stop and pick up the poos. Today I picked up 7 poos mostly on the unused piece but some among the graves including one on my husband's grave. I know other people have gone and picked up as well. Please remember it is illegal not to clear up after your dog and also the churchyard rule is KEEP YOUR DOG ON THE LEAD in the churchyard.

The Reading Room is looking for a replacement piano. Does anyone have a piano (preferably digital) in reasonable condition which they would like to donate to us or sell for a small sum? This also means that we will have an old piano to sell or donate to a good home. Please send all expressions of interest to Morag Underwood.

Thank you to the lovely family who dropped in the money they found near our drive. It did belong to one of the Hills coal delivery men, who was very happy and relieved to know we had got it. He had been searching everywhere, and will be collecting it later.

Hello to all! Just happened to stop by Helmdon.com. Was stationed at RAF Upper Heyford from 1988-1991. Had to obtain housing before family could come over and let Antone House. Ann and Tony (forget their last name) owned the house. He raised sheep just outside the village. My wife and 3 children (Megan,Ben and Nick)arrived a month or so after I moved there and my fourth (Amanda) was born at the base hospital shortly after. The kids attended school in village and in Brackley. We moved to base housing after a year and a half. Great memories of a wonderful place in what I consider my best assignment in 20 years! Best wishes to all there

Irresponsible Dog Owners - this is a message to the woman walking her terrier & spaniel dogs today who's unruly spaniel not on a lead ran up behind and bit my husband on the back of his leg, he shouted to the woman to let her know her dog had just bitten him to which she said 'oh sorry' and promptly scuttled off with the dog!!! She took no responsibility for her dogs behaviour!! Be warned these are unruly dogs with an irresponsible owner. This matter will be reported to authorities if it hasn't already!! Please beware.

The annual bin confusion!

<<<<<This Friday, 5 January 2018, SNC will collect blue bins and silver food caddies only. Next Monday, 12 January 2018, its black bin and silver food caddy.>>>>>

I think the black bin and silver food caddy mentioned above doesn't apply to us in Helmdon does it? The SNC website referred to in the Home Page of The Helmdon Website states that those collection days not affected by bank holidays will continue as normal.

Confused of Helmdon!

Pleased to report that our lovely cat Boo returned home safely on New Years day. Hungry, a little upset and desperate for some fuss but thankfully unhurt. Thank you to kind residents for their help.

Our much loved cat, Boo, is missing. She was last seen at home - 46 Wappenham Road, Helmdon - on 30 December at around 10am. She does not usually stay away this long. We are hoping that somebody may be looking after her believing her to be lost or may have unknowingly locked her in a garage or shed as although she is normally shy of people she is rather inquisitive. She is micro-chipped. Any help in finding her would be appreciated. 07894 834816

Why aren't there any minutes of the Parish meeting dated 16th November. I would like to see them on Parish council page. That date appears to be missing??

I would like to publicly thank the three men from Bell Close who showed real community spirit on Monday.
I was in my driveway Monday morning clearing the huge weight of snow covering my car when they were walking by carrying shovels. They said would I like my driveway clearing so I could get my car out. I thanked them and gratefully accepted their kind offer. When they had finished they asked me to check whether there was enough cleared for me to do a 3 point turn to get my car facing the road. A bit more snow needed clearing and they made sure I had the car in the right place. That was a wonderful way to help an aged lady. Thank you.
