About this Course:

The course covers 19th century France’s extraordinary linguistic diversity, its political upheavals, including the one described in Les Misérables, Haussmann’s reconstruction of Paris, the Paris Commune, the Dreyfus affair, the Moulin Rouge and the cancan, the notorious courtesans, and artistic movements.

 

Location: Helmdon Reading Room, Church Street, Helmdon, Northants, NN13 5QJ (venue accessible to wheelchairs and hearing loop installed)

Duration: 1½ hours each session. 9 sessions.
