A quick update on some of the empty properties along the High Street/Market Place:

The Bell Tower property – work has started by Builders Ede – www.buildersede.co.uk
It will be all residential flats –  The site manager has told us "We are doing an internal strip to convert the existing building into 14 self-contained apartments, this will include an extension to the old auction house which will take place at the end of the project." – but the plan  is to be ready later this year. And having asked about the sign on the front of the building – Feed My Lambs – we have been told that it will be restored to its former glory – basically the building is listed and therefore cannot be changed in any way.

The Old Shoe Shop – building work is well under way. The outside of the property has been lovingly restored with use of the original materials. It will have some retails units and flats – the view of Brackley Town is fantastic from the upstairs flat with lots of character. Again we have been promised more details of its progress and proposed opening and availability. Hopefully all will be ready before the year. More info as we get it.

The building that was the wine shop – As we can all see the scaffolding is being erected INSIDE and outside so work can start on replacing the roof. As for moving forward with it not 100% sure as there are many different ‘issues’ that have to be taken into account that we are as yet not privy too. But look forward to passing on news as and when it’s available.

The property that was the property agents in between the opticians and the wine shop – is apparently still in litigation and therefore we have been informed that nothing can be done to tidy the front up!!! No direct contact has been managed at this point but will keep investigating. Has anyone any contact details that we could have?

The Old Tourist office has requested planning permission to make major changes – details can be found at snc.planning-register.co.uk/ S/2012/0099/FUL
