Half term cycle rides in south Northamptonshire

This February half-term there will be a series of cycle rides for women and children organised by South Northamptonshire Council (SNC).

The rides will be led by trained volunteers from National Cycling’s Breeze programme which aims to get more women in the saddle.

Councillor Herring, SNC's portfolio holder for community engagement and wellbeing, said: “These rides are led by two experienced Breeze Champions and will go at a speed that suits everyone. Both offer the opportunity to have a chat with other cyclists and also a break for tea and coffee.”

 The full schedule is:

Monday 17th February
Time: 10am – 11am
Meeting point: South Northamptonshire Council offices
Classification: Easy

Date: Wednesday 19th February
Time: 1pm – 3pm
Meeting point: South Northamptonshire Council offices
Classification: Steady

Date: Thursday 20th February
Time: 10am – 12 noon
Meeting point: Stowe car park
Classification: Easy with progression to steady

All rides are free and suitable for women and children. Participants must bring their own bike and children must wear a helmet.

Places have to be pre-booked at
http://www.goskyride.com. Click on  ‘Find a ride,’ and search via a south Northants postcode and filter the results by ticking the box for Guided Bike Rides and the box for Include Women Only.

Breeze is the British Cycling’s programme to get more women riding bikes for fun and is supported by Sky, the National Lottery and Sport England.
