High-street names looking to fill over one hundred jobs at Brackley Job Club
Representatives from Marks and Spencer and McDonald’s will be attending Brackley Job Club next week, and they are looking to fill approximately 115 vacancies ahead of the opening of a new retail park on the outskirts of Banbury later this year.
On Tuesday, 22 September, South Northamptonshire Council (SNC) will welcome the two high street retailers alongside a host of other support agencies at its free fortnightly Job Club at Brackley Town Hall.
Both businesses will be looking for full time and part time staff to fill vacancies at their new stores, which are expected to open at the Banbury Gateway Retail Park just off junction 11 of the M40 at Banbury.
Councillor Stephen Clarke, portfolio holder for economic development, regeneration and housing, said: “South Northamptonshire Council is delighted to see that both Marks and Spencer and McDonald’s are showing a real commitment to recruiting local people by attending the Brackley Job Club.
“As well as the usual range of jobs, the district’s Job Club Members will be given the additional opportunity of meeting representatives from well-known high street brands to discuss the job roles in detail which are available at the new Banbury Gateway Retail Park, expected to open by the end of October this year."
The Brackley Job Club takes place every fortnight at Brackley Town Hall from 11.30am to 1.30pm. It is free to attend and in addition to finding out about vacancies in the area, jobseekers can also receive professional advice on how to write a CV and prepare for interviews.
The Gateway Retail Park is located at the former Prodrive headquarters in Wildmere Road. The out-of-town retail park was approved in 2012 to fund a separate application by Prodrive to relocate to larger facilities within the town to accommodate its growth.
