Tove Long Stay Car Park opens
A new long stay car park in Towcester opened on schedule today Monday 11th April 2016.
The new Tove Long Stay Car Park off Northampton Road is free to use and will include 60 spaces with no restrictions, except for no overnight parking. There is a height restriction of 6ft 3in.
A further 110 spaces will also be available to use when improvements to the A5 junction at Northampton Road/Brackley Road have been completed.
Once the new Tove Long Stay Car Park is operational, the existing car park by the Freemasons Hall will become the Tove Short Stay Car Park.
Following public consultation, the council has acted on residents’ feedback and will enforce a three-hour restriction from 8am to 6pm with no return within three hours, from Monday to Friday only.
These restrictions will also apply to the on-street parking on Northampton Road and will be regularly patrolled by Northamptonshire County Council (NCC) to prevent all day parking.
The temporary car park adjacent to The Forum on Moat Lane will also close to enable work on the next phase of the Moat Lane Regeneration.
Bays next to The Forum have also been converted to shared Parent and Toddler and Blue Badge Disabled parking. Parking is permitted for any vehicle displaying a valid blue badge or vehicles fitted with an infant child seat. Daily monitoring will take place to maintain compliance.
