For Immediate Release

Bin collections unaffected by Easter Bank Holidays

Bin collections will take place as normal over Easter but South Northamptonshire Council (SNC) offices will be closed for the Bank Holiday.

The council’s office at The Forum, Moat Lane in Towcester will be closed for the Easter break from Friday 25 March and will reopen on Tuesday 29 March.

However Friday bin collections will not be affected as the waste and recycling crews will continue as normal to avoid disruption to residents.

Cllr Dermot Bambridge, SNC’s portfolio holder for environmental services, said: “Easter is a busy time for households and we will be running a normal waste and recycling service on Good Friday and everyone should put their bins out as normal.

“There are no regular collections on a Monday, so no one will be affected by the holiday.”

SNC offices will close at 5.15pm on Thursday, 24 March while the Library remains open until 6pm. Both reopen as normal from 9am on Tuesday, 29 March.

During the office closures online services can still be accessed at www.southnorthants.gov.uk and the emergency out of hours number will still be available on 0800 160 1022..
