Holding an event this summer?
Those organising an event this summer are reminded that they may need to obtain a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) from South Northamptonshire Council (SNC)
A TEN is needed for any event that involves; sales of alcohol, regulated entertainment (music, dancing or indoor sporting events) or late-night refreshments (hot food and drink between 11pm and 5am).
The event must also have less than 500 people (including staff) and last no more than 7 days.
For the best chance of getting a TEN approved, the council must receive the completed notice at least 10 working days before the event.
Deadlines for up-coming summer events are:
Thursday, 26 May for The Queen’s Patron’s Lunch on Sunday, 12 June
Friday, 24 June for Silverstone Grand Prix starting on Friday, 8 July
Friday, 12 August for August bank holiday starting on Saturday, 27 August
If you are unable to submit a TEN within this time, please contact the Licensing Team on 01327 322278 or refer to the SNC website for more details on submitting a Late TEN: www.southnorthants.gov.uk/temporaryevent
Councillor Dermot Bambridge, portfolio holder for environmental services, said: “The Queen’s Patron’s Lunch is just around the corner, and with the British Grand Prix also swiftly approaching, it is important to make sure anyone organising an event has checked to see if they need a TEN.”
“If you require any help or guidance with the application, please do contact our Licensing Team who will be happy to help.”
Application forms can be filled in online at www.gov.uk/temporary-events-notice, obtained from the Licensing Team by email firstname.lastname@example.org, or by phone 01327 322278
