Stoke Bruerne is one is of the nation’s most idyllic canal-side destinations. Peaceful, charming and home to the Canal Museum which is home to a fascinating collection of waterway memorabilia, films and displays.

Elaine Stanley, Canal & River Trust education volunteer co-ordinator, said: “Stoke Bruerne is a really beautiful part of the Grand Union Canal and a great place to visit for a family day out away from the hustle and bustle.

“During the summer, the canal is alive with all kinds of colourful boats and wildlife and is a perfect location to spend some time. Our education team are experts in bringing to life the ecology, history and science of the 200-year old waterways, so I’d encourage anyone with a family looking for an interesting day out to come along.

“More people than ever before are discovering their local canals, and as a charity we’re really keen to showcase all they have to offer to a new generation of enthusiasts.”

There is no need to book - just turn up! All children must be accompanied by an adult. Please wear suitable outdoor clothing. All equipment will be provided. The address is Bridge Road, Stoke Bruerne, Towcester, NN12 7SE.
