Pilates improves ‘core stability’ by concentrating on strengthening the muscles of the trunk. This increases support of the spine, which in turn improves posture, co-ordination, flexibility and balance. Pilates works by using gentle progressive movements to rebalance the body and adjust the method in which you recruit muscles to produce movements. Pilates is a gentle form of exercise, suitable for all ages and excellent for rehabilitation after an injury.
