Helmdon Pre-school’s annual fireworks event raises an impressive £2,500, thanks to community support
As well as a well-stocked BBQ, refreshments were available to the many families, supporters and locals who turned out for the event on 11th November, with perfect weather conditions making it a wonderful autumnal evening.
All of the money raised will go towards new storage for the pre-school’s popular Forest School, a set of balance bikes, some new toys and an outside bench. Any amount remaining is to be put towards an interactive whiteboard, in order to further enhance the teaching and learning environment.
“We want to thank absolutely everyone who attended our annual bonfire event, your support made 2017 a year to remember for sure!” says Lorna Clarke, Chair of Helmdon Pre-school committee.
“Thank you also to everyone involved in making it a brilliant evening; our committee, staff and parents who gave up their time to help with preparations beforehand, with setting up on the night and clearing away the debris, and especially to the local businesses who donated money and products to help us raise such an impressive amount. We couldn’t have done it without you!”
If you enjoyed this event, please show your support by attending our AGM on Tuesday 16 January 2018. This is a great opportunity to be part of shaping Acorns and helping with fundraising events. If you would like any more information please speak to Liz or a member of the committee. If we do not have enough people attending the AGM, events like the fireworks will not be able to go ahead.
