Bin your fear of having too much recycling this Christmas
Those who regularly fill up their blue recycling bin in South Northamptonshire can save £12 on a second bin until Friday, 29 December 2017.
Normally households can acquire a second bin for £30, but to encourage more recycling South Northamptonshire Council will be providing them for £18 during the build-up to the busiest time of year for waste and recycling.
The one off fee includes fortnightly collections, repairs and replacements if necessary.
Cllr Dermot Bambridge, SNC’s portfolio holder for environmental services, said: “Not everyone has the space, but if you do, this is an excellent opportunity for your household to permanently boost its recycling capacity.”
Householders are reminded that if they do not have room for another bin, any extra recycling can be left for collection next to the blue bin if it is bagged or boxed up (no black bin bags).
To order an extra blue bin call 01327 3223344 before 5.15pm on Friday, 29 December.
Households are also reminded that the Farthinghoe Recycling and Reuse Centre is open 9am to 5pm, seven days a week, but will be closed from midday on Christmas eve, then all day Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Once again the bin collection calendar for 2017 has been included in SNC Review, the council’s quarterly magazine to residents, which is currently being delivered to every home in the district.
Alternatively householders can check their collections dates online at - https://www.southnorthants.gov.uk/wasteandrecycling.
Please note all waste and recycling bins remain the property of the council and the offer is limited to one extra bin per household.
