Thousands expected for weekend of food and family fun
Thousands of people from across the region are expected to visit South Northamptonshire over the weekend of Saturday 9 and Sunday, 10 June 2018 for the annual Towcester Food Festival.
Highlights of this year’s event at Towcester Racecourse include Korean chef and cookery writer Da-Hae West and Brackley’s Great Central Big Band.
The festival is supported by South Northamptonshire Council (SNC) as part of the council’s drive to support tourism and the local economy.
Cllr Stephen Clarke, SNC’s portfolio holder for growth and regeneration, said: “Local traders need somewhere to showcase what they are doing and this event gives them that opportunity.
“This event brings vital income into our district, boosting sales for all traders involved as well as for local businesses.
“Towcester Food Festival is always a fantastic event for visitors to enjoy the food and drink from around the world in a relaxing and fun atmosphere.”
Other highlights include a cocktail masterclass delivered by Towcester’s 185 Watling Street, the Foodies Lounge with free talks from local food heroes, steak school, gin and wine tasting sessions, the Panic Family Circus, chef demos, and the SNC economic growth team will have a tourism stand where you can get the 2018 ‘A Taste for all Seasons’ food and drink guide to the district.
