Bookings opening for half term fun

Parents are being urged to secure a week of fun for their children as preparations for the half term activity programme are stepped up.
South Northamptonshire Council’s (SNC) activity programme provides a vibrant mix of sports, arts, crafts and games to keep young people happy and healthy while they are off school.
Booking for the next edition of the popular programme, which will run in Brackley, opens on Wednesday, 9 May.
Cllr Karen Cooper, SNC’s portfolio holder for community engagement and wellbeing, said: said: “Now that spring is well and truly here it’s the perfect time for parents to start planning for the May half term. We’re proud to have lined up an inspiring week of fun for the district’s children.
“Sport is so important for keeping children active, the programme is inclusive and friendly, also featuring arts, crafts and games.
“We put team spirit at the top of our agenda on the activity programme so it’s really good for building confidence and making new friends.
“With our online booking system, booking is quick and convenient, and I would encourage people to book early to avoid disappointment.”
The council uses the online Eventbrite booking service, allowing people to book 24 hours a day, and on the go with their smartphones. An early-bird discount of ten per cent will be available to people who book between 9 and 13 May 2018.
The May half-term activity programme will run at Magdalen College School, Brackley from Tuesday, 29 May 2018.
Full day sessions, from 8.45am to 5pm, cost £19.40 while the shorter session, 8.45am to 3pm, costs £15.30. Places are limited and must be booked in advance on a first-come-first-served basis. Using Eventbrite, parents can reserve places up until 7am on the day.
