A celebration of Helmdon’s harvest:
a chance to buy local produce & home made food also learn about bees, cheese, chickens and allotments! (All under canvas so bad weather no problem.)
Come and buy delicious locally sourced food. Stalls will be selling home made or local: jam, chutney, honey, herbs, plants, garden produce, soups, pickles, bread, free range eggs, cakes, cheese and biscuits and puddings.
See a demonstration of cider making. Bring along your own apples and press them yourself into juice: bring a container! (Unwanted apples/pears gratefully received by the Helmdon Heritage Cider Club; large paper sacks available from 10 Bell Close)
Talk to a bee-keeper; find out how to keep chickens, talk to a cheese maker and ask a local expert for his advice on vegetable growing and tending an allotment. Sample The Bell Inn’s large range of ale, cider and beer. Have a delicious hot dog! Live music.
