Health Walks in Helmdon
Come and Join Us!
Health Walks are part of the national ‘Walking for Health’ initiative, which has been developed by Natural England and the British Heart Foundation. Locally, South Northamptonshire Council leads the development of health walks in this area. The aim is to promote free and easy-to-join schemes to encourage people to walk safely in their local areas for the benefit of their health.
Helmdon is one of over 500 communities offering regular health walks planned and led by volunteers who have trained as Walk Leaders. Our summer evening strolls on Monday have ended but our Thursday afternoon walks will continue through the autumn and winter, every week if the weather permits!
THURSDAY AFTERNOON HEALTH WALKS
- Meet at the Reading Room in Church Street at 1:45 pm
- Circular walks of about 60 minutes
- Tea and coffee available in the Reading Room afterwards.
No need to book, just turn up on the day. Please note NO dogs allowed and children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Health Walks are fun, safe and FREE. You don’t need any special equipment, just dress sensibly for the weather and wear appropriate footwear for the conditions.
