Walked The Villages Looking For Work

Jack Gibbons, who has worked in the same builder’s yard at Helmdon for 51 years, started his working life as a carpenter by walking round neighbouring villages with his tools slung on his back looking for work.

In the course of his duties, which include those of undertaker, he has attended more than 200 local funerals.
