A Northamptonshire village will be in carnival mood this weekend.

The three-day Helmdon carnival begins on Saturday and continues through until Bank Holiday Monday.

The event starts with a children's disco on Saturday followed by dancing to Nightshift and Montana at the sports field at 7.30pm. Tickets are £6 in advance, £7 at the gate, children under 14 free. A barbecue and bar will be operating.

Sunday sees a fun quiz at the Bell Inn commencing at 8pm.

Bank Holiday Monday includes a procession through the village led by a brass band at 1.15pm followed by a full afternoon of events and activities including a dog show, martial arts display, aerobatic display, sheep shearing, vintage ploughing, archery, children's playground, local craft stalls, and much more.
