Blimp Highlights Wind Farm Worries

A bright orange blimp will hang over the communities around Helmdon as campaigners once again illustrate the height of a proposed wind farm.

The Helmdon, Stuchbury and Greatworth Wind Action Group floated the blimp above the Spring Farm Ridge in April to demonstrate the height of the five 125m high turbines proposed by Broadview Energy Ltd.

On July 13 they will repeat the exercise to coincide with a public exhibition by Broadview at Helmdon Primary School.

Keith Jones, chair of HSWAG said the turbines are wrong for an otherwise unblemished skyline, and that wind energy is not a reliable replacement for fossil fuels.
