Carnival Fever Hits Helmdon

Carnival spirit took over in Helmdon over the bank holiday weekend.

The twenty sixth Helmdon carnival began on Saturday August 23 and the party continued until bank holiday Monday.

The procession marched through the village followed by a brass band and an afternoon packed full of fun events for all the family.

Carnival committee member Sarah Smith said: “The weather held out and we had a great attendance.

“The feedback so far seems to be that everyone enjoyed themselves.

“I enjoyed the tug–of-war, that was really good fun.

“The tank that pulled the children along was absolutely excellent.

“That kept them entertained for hours”.
