RUNNING: Brackley and District Running club had one their best turnouts with over 20 club members competing at the Helmdon Hurler four-mile plus race.
Sue Torrance took the title of first lady to finish the race in a cracking time of 32.22.00 and now holds the ladies record for this inaugural race. She is currently leading the Brackley ladies league.
Second back for the ladies was Heidi Lewis in quick time of 33.14.00 with Joan Carey in 34.45.00. Karen Dykes came in 37.23.00, a great result as she is returning from injury. Fifth back was club newcomer Verity Holmes in 38.34 closely followed by Jane Wood in a respectable 39.26.00.
Next was Kelly Lorenzo in 40.22.00 with Karen Alsopp in 42.35.00. Ninth was Sally Hart in 42.48.00 closely followed by Terri Robinson in 43.42.00.
For the men, first back for the club was Graham Cripps in 29.12.00, Andy Crofts closely following in 29.13.00. Both runners secured 15th and 16th places in the men’s overall.
Third back was Dennis Carey in 30.01.00 closely followed by Chris Davies in a respectable 31.15.00.
Fifth back was Helmdon local Nick Rudman in 31.52.00. Sixth back for the club was Stephen Wright in 32.58.00 with Steve Snow on his heels in 33.38.00. Eighth back was Tom Pomeroy in 37.43.00. Ninth was Eon Tweesdale in 39.50.00. with Paul Robinson and Tony Chapman finishing in 40.00.00 and 40. 12.00.
The club meets on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7 pm starting from Brackley Leisure Centre.
