Bus services to continue across region after company is sold

ADMINISTRATOR FINDS JEFFS COACHES BUYER

A buyer has been found for Jeffs Coaches in Helmdon.

The closure of Jeffs Coaches and Banbury based Jeffs Travel was announced last month after parent company, Bowen Travel Group went into administration.

But Matthew Cowlishaw and Dominic Wong, partners at administrators Deloitte, secured the sale of Jeffs Coaches at the end of last week, safeguarding the provision of coach services.

The company, which will retain the operating name Jeffs Coaches, has continued to run private hire school bus services this week.

Mr Cowlishaw, said: “It has been our utmost priority to ensure minimal disruption to passengers - young people travelling to and from school – and so the sale of Jeffs Coaches is a fantastic result for all involved.

“Services have now resumed, with the majority of routes unaffected and operating from the same coach depot.”

Jeffs Coaches provides six school routes in north Oxfordshire including two from Bicester, Stoke Lyne and Bucknell to Blessed Napier School, in Banbury.

It also provides a single service for pupils from the Mixbury area to Magdalen College School, in Brackley.

Northants County Council also has five contracts with Jeffs.
