CHARITY SWIM IS A SUCCESS
A Fundraiser from Helmdon has raised more than £3,500 for charity after swimming the English Channel.
Helen Gibbs successfully completed the challenge on September 3 in 12 hours and 38 minutes to help the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). She hopes to raise £5,000.
She said: “It was very tough but my physical and mental preparations paid off and I am of course very grateful to my support crew. I am absolutely ecstatic about achieving my dream and would like to thank everyone for their support and donations.
“I believe the RNLI and the services they provide are often taken for granted."
