SHOW CAPTURES ARTISTIC TALENTS

FUNDRAISER PUTS RANGE OF BRIGHT IDEAS ON DISPLAY

The talents of artists from Helmdon and the surrounding villages was on display in Helmdon on Saturday raising £450.

The event has been held every two years for about eight years and despite the wet weather, 16 artists were in St Mary’s Church in Helmdon showing off works including ceramics, paintings, knitting and patchwork.

Louise Stothard, organiser said: “We are very pleased in spite of the horrible weather and had 100 people come through the doors.

“When I came to the village eight years ago there were some clever people doing things for the church and nobody knew about it.  We did a craft day and realised there were so many talented people.”

More than £300 of proceeds will go to SERV – a charity which sees volunteers deliver blood to hospitals by motorbikes.
