Sam Impresses On His Brackley Debut

A scorching Bank Holiday Monday saw the eighth running of the Helmdon Hurler and 19 Brackley & District Club members racing.

The 4.3 mile loop consisted of a steep climb out of Helmdon, multi-surface farm road, a long climb back to Helmdon and back to the Bell pub.

Sam Dix (25.54) was first to finish for BDRC and was impressively fourth overall in his debut race for the club. He was followed in by John Russell, Chris Noble, Michael Bishop, Graham Weir, Toby Cartwright, Nicola Crookes, Adrian Crookes, Dawn Breward, Gareth Meade, Nick Locke, Richard McMahon, Natasha Berry, Julian Chronicle, Helen Brawn (helped a kid complete the last three miles), Maxine Sutton, Julie Waller, Christine Bridger and Claire Reynolds, who got injured and walked for a lot of the course.
