FUND RAISER SEES BALLOON TRAVEL MORE THAN 100 MILES

Helmdon children had a spectacular end to their sports day this week when they released 150 helium filled balloons.

Clare Hedley, from the Friends of Helmdon Primary School helped organise the event to raise money for school funds.  Messages attached to the balloons invited the finder to call Helmdon with a reference number corresponding to each child.

Mrs Hedley added: “The child whose balloon travels the furthest will get a prize.  So far we’ve had ballloons found in Suffolk, so we’ve done really well.  We’ve got a potential winner but we’re expecting more calls.”

Headteacher Jacqui Johnson said it was a spectacular end to the sports day, won by Venus House.
