Dear Parents

It’s hard to believe I am writing the final newsletter for the year – where does the time go? We have really enjoyed the final week of term; activities have included whole school orienteering where the children demonstrated some excellent team work, a cricket festival, an indoor fitness workout and KS2 cycling event. We were also well entertained by Year 6 this morning.

Ice Cream Bar

After school on Tuesday 18th, two of our year 5 girls, with the support of the school council ran an ice cream bar to raise money for a medical detection dog. I’m pleased to tell you they raised £100. Thank you for supporting it and well done Sophie and Grace.

House Points

Neptune were our winning house this year and enjoyed their mufti day on Wednesday.

Helmdon Flower and Produce Show

Well done to everyone who grew carrots. The winners were:

KS1 Best carrots – Esme Arneill

     Craziest carrot – Kai Holloway

2nd craziest carrot – Edith Herbert

KS2 Best Carrots – Grace Avery

(Sadly there were no crazy carrots in Key Stage 2)

The show committee would like to remind children there are lots of classes they can enter in the youth section of the show

School Uniform

Following a meeting of the governing body on Monday we have updated the uniform requirements. The uniform stays the same but we would like only plain white, grey or black socks to be worn. We have made our policy on hair stricter as we do not want children to come into school with stripes, blocks, patterns, braids or shaved lines. Please support us by ensuring long hair is tied back.

Details of uniform requirements are on the website.

Breakfast and After School Club

We are changing our breakfast and after school club provider and will be recruiting in September. Please contact me by email if you are interested: head@helmdon.northants-ecl.gov.uk

After school club and breakfast club will continue to run in September, details of how to book places will be emailed to users during the holiday. If you plan to use the clubs and haven’t done so before please email me directly.
